We learned this lesson ourselves the hard way, and even lost a trophy at one of our races last year because of it. One of our karts got busted in a tear down following his feature race. Needless to say, it was an embarrassing ordeal for the driver, not to mention a big disappointment to the team, and the whole incident cost us some respect at the track. We seriously doubt that we are the only ones who have ever tried to win a race using motors that aren't in agreement with the track tech specs. We just got caught, and decided it wasn't worth it.

Through our experience, we found out that good driving and good mechanics worked a whole lot better than taking chances on getting busted in a tear down. We ran legal from that day forward, and saw that it didn't really make us run any worse on the track, and that the victories were far more sweeter because we knew we were beating people who were still cheating. We find that running legal makes us drive much better and win more races because we are able to focus all of our attention on position, moving through traffic, and driving safely around the track, rather than worrying about getting busted after the race and losing another trophy.
